A glacial river system transitions into a deep lake carved eons ago by the same glacier that is melting upstream. Glacial flour in the water gives the river its mesmerizing blue color. The resulting effect is a landscape that looks more like abstract art than anything else.
This photo has become a visual meditation for me. I read the image from right to left, seeing 3 stages of being: separation, transition, & unity. It is a picture of our world & the hope I have for the days ahead.
We all find ourselves in our own streams, be them cultural, religious, political, relational, or philosophical. Our diversity & individual identities are something to be celebrated. But an over-emphasis on this can lead to disconnection.
To be human is to long for connection... to transition into communal wholeness. Beauty happens when our streams intertwine & weave into Oneness.
May we all embrace the sacred Flow.

Towering high in the North Cascades of Washington State stands Koma Kulshan, an active stratovolcano also known as Mount Baker. My first time to behold the "white sentinel" was at sunset on a cool summer evening. Its glacier-covered peak & grassy slopes glowed at the sun's hour of rest while pink clouds sweetened the scene like cotton candy.

One early Autumn morning, I ventured deep into the forest near my home in the Columbia River Gorge. Thick fog was rising from the river, enveloping the evergreens & amber trees, while an early bird was out to catch its worm.
The moment made me think of the line from one of my favorite Wes Anderson films, "Moonrise Kingdom" – "What kind of bird are you?" ("No. What kind of bird are YOU?") It always makes me smile, as did this quiet moment that morning.
So then... what kind of bird are you, anyway? =)

Glacial river systems have always mesmerized me. Their feathery blue veins illuminated by refracting glacial flour flow through scraped landscapes like abstract art.
The image of one river existing in separate streams that ultimately flow into unified oneness is a metaphor that resonates deep within. Yet this reality brings a sobering reminder: all things move toward their end.
The slow death of a glacier can yield the most stunning of sights. Like a dying star that explodes into a technicolor nebula, a glorious death can be both sobering & mesmerizing, sad & hopeful. When we allow these contrasting feelings to coexist, therein lies harmonious beauty.
My hope is that this collection stirs in you a sense of wonder & contemplation about life, death, & the eternal joy that is found in letting go & giving yourself over to the Flow.
I curated this playlist as a soundtrack for the collection.

You are a wave, your energy is animating eyes & bodies & this grand illusion, the stories we see – Love experiencing you & me
You are the dark, you are the light, you are the dream, the waking sight of everything, the rise & fall, you are the wave – breathing
These simple yet profound lyrics speak to a greater awareness of Oneness & Being far beyond our own feeble ego. This Oneness flows not only all around us but also within us.
This invitation into Awareness is sung & underscored by a hypnotic soundtrack by Isa Ma (Lisa Gungor). I couldn’t help but visualize her song with the same metaphor of waves (filmed via drone) & to transform them into a dreamscape seen through a kaleidoscopic lens.

This is the official cover art for Peter Gregson's new album "PATINA", available on Deutsche Grammophon.
For years, I have been mesmerized by the river systems that glaciers leave behind. Their feathery blue veins illuminated by refracting glacial flour flow through scraped landscapes like abstract art. When I saw this from my drone in 2018, I imagined a cello playing. Two years later, I met cellist & composer Peter Gregson.
Peter writes, "There was something about the scale, colour, & serenity of this scene that drew me in early on when writing the record. I love how it teeters on the edge of reality but retains a grandeur that could only be natural. This was the foundation of the artwork & aesthetic for the whole record: something that was so real, it almost looked artificial."
PHYSICAL BONUS: The original collector of this NFT will receive PATINA on VINYL! Contact me via social media.

O lux beata Trinitas, et principalis Unitas, iam sol recedit igneus, infunde lumen cordibus.
O Trinity, blessed light And principal Unity, Now as the fiery sun sets, Pour thy light into our hearts.
“O Lux” is the 1st in a 3-part series of NFTs titled “Sacred Trinity.”
When I think of my favorite sacred spaces (places set apart from the hurried & anxious noise of this world), I think of ancient cathedrals made of stone, as well as the great Cathedral of Creation. These are immersive spaces that bring me great peace, rest & hope. When I imagine my ideal sacred space, I imagine a fusion of both realities colliding & flowing together. My hope is that this series invokes in you a sense of awe, wonder & imagination... and maybe even a peace-filled sense of the Divine breaking forth inside you, like light shining through stained glass windows.

I see, I see the water – I see, I see the water – Pouring forth, Pouring forth from the Temple
And all those, all those who drink – All those, all those who drink are saved, are saved – Allelujah!

Hail Gladdening Light of Her pure glory poured, Who is the Immortal Mother, Heavenly Blest
Holiest of Holies, Jesus Christ our Lord
Now we are come to the sun's hour of rest – The lights of evening 'round us shine
We hymn the Mother, Son, & Spirit Divine
Worthiest art Thou, at all times to be sung with undefiled tongue
Son of our God, Giver of life alone – Therefore, in all the world Thy glories Lord Thine own

Portland, Oregon 2020 – 1/1 video with music
Transcend to a higher dimension where space is folding into itself, and where forests become a fractal feast for the eyes.
"Minted Forest" is like a psychedelic meditation, complete with stunning soundtrack by film composer Tony Anderson. The forest was filmed in the largest urban park in America, Forest Park in Portland, OR. And it was filmed during the wildfires of 2020, when it seems the entire world was smothered in suffocating smoke.
